Incineration of waste constitutes the final stage and perhaps the most comprehensive stage after waste reduction, recycling and clean-up. A typical incinerator is dual chambered refractory lined furnace. The two chamber work under varying conditions of temperature, pressure and combustion configuration. The primary chamber operates under ' Starved Air' or Pyrolysis mode and the Secondary chamber works under 'Excess Air' mode. The incineration chambers are lined on the inside with hot face-high aluminia refractory and cold face-insulation bricks with sturdy steel frame on the outside. High combination efficiency is ensured by dedicated chamber temperature interlocked Oil / Natural Gas fired automatic burners. Every incinerator is provided with a tailor made flue gas management system to remove gaseous pollutants before discharge to the atmosphere.

Solid Waste Incinerator :

The Solid waste incinerator is typically a static dual dual chambered furnace. The primary chamber is operated under 'Starved Air' condition with the secondary chamber operated under ' Excess Air' & high residence time conditon to achieve complete combustion. The incinerators incorporate tailored waste feeding arrangements and ash disposal systems for continuous operation.

Scrubbers  
Venturi Scrubber :  

Venturi Scrubber is a compact scrubber. It comprises of convergent inlet section, constricted throat followed by divergent outlet section.

The scrubbing liquid is fed into the inlet section tangentially through a number of pipes & ensures that entire surface area of section is flooded with scrubbing liquid.

The dust laden gas enters the scrubber vertically from top & immediately hits the film of scrubbing water where some separation takes place. The Gas then enters the venturi throat which has annular shape. This ensures that the highest possible volume of water is taken up by gas, which becomes saturated in this area.

At the narrowest cross section of throat there is a sharp tear off edge where because of sudden change in gas speed the scrubbing water is atomized into tiny droplets. Because of high relative speed between the gas / dust mixture & the droplets the dust particles strike the droplets at high speed & are entrained by them.
